Qualifications
Distribution Construction Co’s
Operator Qualification (OQ) Program complies with
the Office of Pipeline Safety of the U. S.
Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Qualification
of Pipeline Personnel Regulation (49 CFR Part 192
Subpart N and Part 196 Subpart (G). The Program
applies to all company employees and subcontractors
employees performing services on natural gas
distribution systems on behalf of the company.
Distribution Construction Co. belongs
to Midwest Energy Association/Energy Training
Network (MEA/ETN) Qualified for One Qualified
for All consortiums. This consortium is
made up of pipeline operators and contractors who
have a common interest in maximizing the benefits of
OQ while keeping costs as low as possible. The
consortium members agree to accept a common Covered
Task List and to accept the qualification of each
other’s workers, through a common data base, to
perform covered tasks
The OQ program equips employees to
perform specific covered tasks thereby reducing the
probability and consequences of incidents. OQ
Trainers and Evaluators are chosen for their
knowledge and extensive field experience. They
also attend Midwest Energy Association’s Train the
Evaluator training course.
