Employee
Development
Training Philosophy
OSHA standards require employers to train employees
in the safety and health aspects of their job. Under
OSHA standards, we limit certain job assignments to
employees who are “certified,” “competent,” or
“qualified,” meaning that they have had special
previous training. This requirement is an essential
part of our program for protecting workers from
accidents and illnesses.
We believe that employee training in the proper
performance of a job is time and money well spent.
We also believe providing employees with safety and
health training results in fewer accidents and
illnesses, improved morale, and overall reduction in
operational costs.
Our program strategy includes providing each and
every employee with comprehensive safety and health
training, before they begin work and while on the
job.
Training Policy
Managers, foremen and all other employees are
required to attend safety, health, and environmental
training programs. Employees are required to be
knowledgeable about company safety policies and
procedures, as well as how to identify workplace
hazards.
New employees are required to attend the New
Employee Orientation program, which explains safety
policies, construction procedures for the safe
installation of natural gas pipelines, plus equips
them in identifying jobsite hazards and conditions.

environmental training for all employees that
